Green Park Apartments Playa del Ingles are a favorite place for the budget minded. Renting an apartment can help you achieve the goal of taking cheap holidays in Playa del Ingles. The rooms are basic, but they do come with a small kitchenette, which can help save on food costs. Younger people seem to like this hotel more than the older crowd does, partly due to budgets, but mostly due to the fact that this is a party hotel.
If you are looking for a quiet family hotel, this is not the place for you! I urge you to look for another budget hotel!
The reviews that I have read of the Green Park Apartments include statements such as "doors slamming at 3:00 am" and "people running from room to room at all hours of the night". If you have a family or if you are not a party animal, or are not a very deep sleeper, this is not the atmosphere you want to spend your vacation in. IF however, you like to party all night long and want or need the same type of people around you, this may end up being your very favorite vacation spot in the whole world!
The Green Park Apartments are near the Yumbo Center, which is an area of town where you can find lots of shopping and bars all gathered into one compact area. The Yumbo Center is considered the gay center on Gran Canaria. You will find lots of gay bars in this section of town, and it is the place where gays gather to party. But do not let that stop you from visiting this section of town! Gays are not the ONLY ones to party here, just the most prevalent!
You will find bars in this section of town that will have drag queen shows at night, and they have a great time. Lots of drag queen costumes. This is a very lively section of town and a not to be missed. The bars stay open late, usually till 3:00 or 4:00 am, with after hours bars staying open until 7:00 am. No need to rush back to your lonely room, whether you are staying at the Green Park Apartments or elsewhere, and close yourself in by the midnight hour, go ahead and stay out all night long and join the other revelers!
Drink prices in the bars near the Green Park Apartments will run the gamut from cheap to expensive. Do the same thing here as you would at home or anywhere else. Check out the bar when you walk in and see if the atmosphere is a place you want to hang out in. And when you order your first drink, make sure you know what you are being charged. There is no harm in asking up front what the prices will be. If you do not like the prices, move on! There are plenty of places to go, no sense in patronizing a place you don't like since there are so many choices!
This is NOT a picture of a pool party at the Green Park Apartments! I just wanted a visual of how much fun can be had at a hotel pool party! As you can see by the actual picture of the Green Park Apartments, their pool area is MUCH nicer!!!
Green Park Apartments are very close to the beach, as well as being in a neighborhood where there are not only restaurants and shops, but more importantly, bars. The management here does not seem too concerned with parties that are loud and last till 3 or 4 in the morning, however, some people do still manage to get themselves kicked out! So if you are part of the crowd that is going for the party and you are looking for great location, budget prices and a jaded eye towards parties, this is the place for you!
As you can see by the photo of the Green Park Apartments, it is a nice looking hotel, easy on the eyes. And at only $52 a night, it is easy on the wallet too!
In order to check on the weather in Gran Canaria 10 day forecast, just follow the link to the weather report. It will take you to Weather.com, where you will see the 7 and 10 day weather forecast for Gran Canaria. There is also a table there with all kinds of weather related information about Gran Canaria. If you are interested in knowing what the temperature in Gran Canaria is when you will be going on holiday, this is a good resource. It can help you plan your trip so that the weather in Gran Canaria will be perfect for you.
Since Gran Canaria is just off the coast of Africa, the temperature in Gran Canaria is consistently mild. That is one of the reasons that Gran Canaria in particular, and the Canary Islands in general, are such famously attractive holiday and vacation spots.
Even at night time, the weather in Gran Canaria is mild, since the temperature does not go down very much overnight, most of the time staying within 10 degrees of the daytime temperature.
If you visited the weather.com site, you will have seen that the temperature in Gran Canaria does not really vary all that much even from month to month. The average daytime temperature in February is 64 and the average daytime temperature in September is 75, and that 11 degree temperature range is both ends of the spectrum for average temperatures in Gran Canaria.
For sure it can get hotter or colder, sometimes reaching as high as 102 and as low as 50, but even with those extreme ends of the range of temperatures, you have to admit that the weather in Gran Canaria stay on a pretty even keel!

I have to laugh at myself over the term "wetter Gran Canaria." While I was doing research for this page, I kept running across this term. Since I have vacationed a few times in Hawaii, where they have a "wet" side of the island and a "dry" side, I just assumed that is what this term was referring to.
But the more research I did on the weather in Gran Canaria, the more I came to realize that the Canary Islands are not like Hawaii in that respect. So of course I did what any self respecting web master would do………..I googled it!
To my utter surprise, I discovered that, basically, (and pardon me if I am offending any one that actually speaks German) it is the German way of saying weather! It made perfect sense to me once I knew, but I had a heck of a time trying to discover where the "wetter Gran Canaria" was.

As you probably have figured out by now, the weather forecast for Gran Canaria, whether you are talking about Puerto Rico weather, the weather in Maspalomas, or the weather of Las Palomas Gran Canaria, all will most likely be warm and sunny. As a matter of fact, you could probably say the same thing for the weather in Lanzarote and the Tenerife weather! There may be some slight variations, but basically you can count on warm temperatures in Gran Canaria.
The exception to this will be if you head into the interior of Gran Canaria. Since the island of Gran Canaria, also known as "the little continent", has so many microclimates, the interior is where you will most certainly find the variations. The weather in Gran Canaria in teh mountainous regions can get frost and even snow in the winter months, but this will not affect your holiday weather if you are sunning yourself on the beach. But how cool would it be to lie on the beach and gaze at a snow covered mountain in the background?

Here are some of the reasons why it is easier than you think to take cheap holidays to Gran Canaria:

If you are trying to make your Gran Canaria Holidays as budget friendly as possible, do some advance planning to find the best cheap package holidays to Gran Canaria. You may have to give up the luxurious room with the ocean view, but unless you like to spend all of your time in your room while on holiday, does that really matter?

Another thing you can do to ensure cheap holidays to Gran Canaria is to cut cost by using the public transportation bus system whenever you want to visit a different area. The bus system on Gran Canaria is pretty good, and for the most part will get you where you want to go. And the best part is that they are cheap! A taxi will get you there quicker, but they will be a bit more expensive.
Just Kidding! They HAVE upgraded the bus system since this photo! |
A good way to limit the amount of money you will spend on snacks and cold drinks while hanging out at the beach is to buy yourself a Collapsible Cooler to take with you on holiday. It will fold flat to fit inside your suitcase, and allows you to stop at a store and fill up your cooler in the morning before heading to the beach. That way you do not have to pay the exorbitant prices charged by the beachside vendors. This is just one more way to help make your dream of taking cheap holidays to Gran Canaria a reality.
So you see, with just a little bit of advance planning and some creative thinking, it is totally possible to take cheap holidays to Gran Canaria!

Playa del Ingles is in the southern portion of the island of Gran Canaria, in the Canary Islands, Spain. Most people do not realize that even though the Canary Islands belong to Spain, they are actually located just off the coast of Africa.
Playa del Ingles is located between the towns of Maspalomas and San Agustin, right next door to the famed Dunes of Maspalomas. The dunes are a little bit like being in the Sahara, without leaving Play del Ingles!
Playa del Ingles is a loud and busy tourist area, it is the area that is popular with the younger crowd, espcially during the summer months. The rest of the year there is a good mix of ages and cultures to be found, but at all times it is a bustling area. If you are looking for the quieter side of Gran Canaria for your holiday, this is not the place to be!

Apart from hanging out at one of the best beaches on Gran Canaria? There are still tons of other activities to do in and around Playa del ingles. Here is a short list of ideas:

These can all be done in and around the Playa del Ingles resort area. And that was just the short list!
In addition to the above activities, there is the whole island of Gran Canaria to explore. This island is dubbed "the little continent" because it is so diverse. Not only does it have great beaches, it also has mountains, where it snows in the winter. The water runoff and snow melt over eons of time have created beautful barrancos (valleys) where you can find quaint little villages to explore.

In some of those mountain villages you will find crafts made by the citizens of Gran Canaria, not the stuff you will find in the tourist stalls either. You will be able to view some beautiful scenery, and if you do not feel comfortable renting a car a striking out on your own, you might try taking a coach tour, like the one shown here. . . . . . .
You will be picked up in the morning from the designated pick-up point in Gran Canaria. Accompanied by a guide, you will travel by coach into the heart of the island. Drive alongside the mighty Masplomas Sand Dunes and visit to Telde a typical Spanish Village and leafy Tafira one of the most affluent areas of the island.
Spend time in Ingenio, the heart of agriculture for Gran Canaria. Your time in Ingenio includes a visit to the local Museo de Piedra to see some traditional Canarian arts and crafts. Then it is time for one of the highlights of your trip; a visit to the stunning volcanic Crater de Bandama. You will stop to have a delightful lunch at the lovely village of Valleseco.
After lunch you will travel to the idyllic locations of Cruz de Tejeda, Mirador del Fraile, Roque Nublo, Ayacata and San Bartolome de Tirajana. Your round trip will then bring you back via Fataga. This is Gran Canaria’s most picturesque and culturally important village and has been designated a world heritage site. At the end of your splendid journey, the tour will finish at the original departure point.
After a day of playing in the green sea and on the sandy beach of Playa del Ingles, you will undoubtedly be on the search for a fun way to spend your evening. Not to worry, the fun only begins when the sun goes down!
Nightclubs abound in the Playa del Ingles resort area. And if for some unfathomable reason you do not find what you are looking for there, it is just a short taxi ride or bus ride to the neighboring towns of Maspalomas or San Agustin, where you will find another selection of night time activities. When you are out to party is not the time to indulge in a car hire in Playa del Inlges, they have good public transportation, use it!
There are several areas in Playa del Ingles, but a couple of the more popular ones for the night club scene and bars is the Yumbo centre and the Kasbah area. The bars will remain open until late into the evening. The Yumbo centre is popular with the gay crowd, and you can usually find a drag show going on.
Also in the area you should be able to find foam parties like the one in the video below.

Also known as the dunes of Maspalomas is situated on the southern tip of the island of Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands of Spain. This island is much closer to Africa than it is to Spain, which may explain the incredible dunes of Maspalomas.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Las Dunas de Maspalomas is a kilometer wide dune area that has been set aside as a natural park.
It is almost seamlessly connected to the bustling tourist town of Playa Del Ingles.
One of the most interesting things you do in the dunes of Maspalomas is to go on a camel ride. They will take you through the dunes that are eerily akin to the Sahara desert in a camel caravan that will make you feel like you are part of the Arabian nights.
.
.
.
.
.
So what else are the dunes of Maspalomas famous for? Nudity! Not only out in the middle of the dunes, but also along the beach. This area is a favorite spot for naturists. So if you are offended by naked people, this is an are you will want to avoid. If you would like to know more about the German Naturist movement, visit the FKK Website

The area on the western edge of the town of Maspalomas is called El Oasis, and to the south is El Faro de Maspalomas, which is the highest lighthouse of all in the Canary Islands, and marks the southernmost point of the island. Beneath the lighthouse have sprung up hotels, restaurants and stores. All of these combine to help you enjoy your Maspalomas holiday, since you do not have to go far to find food or souvenirs.
.

Even though the dunes are a protected area, that does not mean that you are not allowed to wander about in them. There is, however, an area in the dunes that is forbidden to enter. The area is known as La Charca, and it is the remains of a seawater lagoon with reeds around the eastern edge. This reedy area is home to nesting waterfowl. You can actually view the front part of La Charca as you walk along the beach boardwalk. From this edge, it just looks like a beach pond. The back portion of this area is where the reeds are and where the waterfowl nest. If you like nature, you can get some good views as you walk along the boardwalk.
As is the case in every tourist destination in the world, you can find accommodations to fit your needs. They will range from budget to luxurious. In the Maspalomas area you can find hotels, apartments, bungalows, or villas. You will find them in the heart of the tourist area as well as removed from the hustle and bustle. You can even rent a hilltop villa, where solitude is the order of the day.
There are many choices here for taking an all inclusive Gran Canaria holiday, or if you do not want to be obligated to eat and drink everything at the hotel, you might want to think about going half board instead. That way, if the fare is icky you won't starve to death, and if the party is better somewhere else, at least you won't feel cheated.
Built in 1998, this popular hotel consists of 411 double rooms and 26 suites. The accommodation is spread over six buildings, each with either 4 or 5 floors. Various facilities are available to guests including a foyer with a 24-hour reception desk, boutiques, a cozy bar and a nightclub. In addition, the hotel has a restaurant, a public Internet access, a kids' club and a laundry service.
The spacious rooms come equipped with an en suite bathroom, a direct dial telephone, a hire safe (rental), balcony or terrace
The grounds offers guests use of 2 swimming pools (one is heated during the winter) connected by waterslides with separate children's pool as well as a furnished sun, sun beds, parasols and pool towels (under charge) and snack bar. Other leisure options include table tennis, tennis, archery, cycling, volleyball, pool and a massage service
This hotel is located on a bank, overlooking Masapalomas. Countless shops and restaurants are located in the immediate vicinity. A free shuttle service runs guests to the beach, situated 4 km away. There is a bus stop located directly in front of the hotel.
Maspalomas is not just a place of high rolling sand dunes. The town of Maspalomas is actually the oldest tourist town on the island of Gran Canaria. There is plenty to see and do in the town of Maspalomas and there are plenty of places to find fine dining.

The Yumbo shopping center is a place where you can go to get in all of your shopping needs while on your Gran Canaria holidays and is just a bus or taxi ride away from Maspalomas. In Maspalomas, you will find Holiday World amusement park and the Oceano Parque Acuatico Maspalomas, both of which are ideal places for families with children to spend the day.
Also close by to the town of Maspalomas is Aqua Sur, another waterpark and the Parque Ornitologico Palmitos, a 200,000 meters of artificial biotope with over 1000 palm trees, cactus garden, an orchid and butterfly house, and the seawater a query them. With over 230 exotic species of bird. This is also great entertainment for kids, as they have a parrot show here that is especially entertaining. So remember, a trip to Dunas Maspalomas is not just a destination on a map, it is an entire vacation experience.
Check several options before choosing which airline and which route to take for your flights to Gran Canaria and back home. Price is not the only option you will want to consider. You will also want to look at:
The best way to find the cheap flights to Gran Canaria, or anywhere else for that matter, is to start off doing some research. You need to find out which airlines fly into that airport (LPA). Then you can start cross referencing which of those airlines routinely fly out of your home airport. This tactic will ensure that you are looking at airlines that service both airports. Ideally, you are looking for one of these airlines that has a hub either in your home airport or at Gran Canaria, because if you can find a hub, you have a better chance of finding those cheap flights to Gran Canaria.
Here is another source of information that you may find useful. This is a report on Insider Secrets to Cheap Flights written by an ex airline employee. He gives you insider secrets and tips on how to go about getting the best airfare for those flights to Gran Canaria. For under $30.00, it would be worth it if it can save you that much on just one airfare. Using that information over and over again to save money when booking airfare can be a huge money saver, not to mention a time saver! Nothing in here that you could probably not dig up on your own, but why would you spend all that time doing research when someone has already done it for you and the price is so cheap?
The Airport on Gran Canaria (LPA) is a very busy airport and is well traveled, so you should not have too much difficulty finding flights to there. It is, after all, a major tourist destination. You will also find the airport to be English speaking friendly.
The airport is 11 miles from the town of Las Palmas and 16 miles from the popular tourist destinations of the south, making this an ideal airport for your flights to Gran Canaria.

Rental car kiosks are located on the ground floor, in the walkway connecting international and EU arrivals. Some of the companies operating out of the airport are Avis, Top Car Suto Reisen, Hertz, Cicar and Europcar.
In addition to the rental cars, there are taxi's located outside of the arrival terminals, and there is a public bus system that will get you to most of the major tourist destinations.
Whichever transportation mode you choose, you will want to have this planned out in advance of your Gran Canaria flights and have it in place before you land.
The major roads and most minor roads will get you to the airport, and the roads are well signposted with directions that will get you back to the airport safely and easily. GC-1, which is the islands main North/South roadway is the access road to the airport.
There is a bank on the ground floor, and ATM's on the 1st floor. In addition, there are money exchange kiosks in the airport if you would prefer to use them.
There is a 24 hour deli at the airport, prior to passing through security. Once inside the terminal, there are bars, restaurants and fast food places to grab some food or while away time before your flight.
For more information on Gran Canaria flights, you can check with each airline to see what they offer in the way of inflight entertainment, meals, comfort, etc.
Some of the airlines that fly from the states are United Airline, USAir, Delta and Continental. When searching for Gran Canaria flights, use a search engine such as Hotwire.com or Vayama.com – International Travel Solved!
How you go about searching for your flights to Gran Canaria? I usually start my search to see which airlines fly to Gran Canaria, and in finding which ones have a hub for where I am flying from. I think this is the best way to go about finding bargain flights, no matter where you want to fly. If you've booked an all-inclusive to grant canaria, chances are your flights are already included in the price of your holiday to grant canaria.
But if you did not get the all inclusive to Gran Canaria, you want to figure out how to get the cheapest flight to Gran Canaria or any of the other Canary Islands. I really think when going on your Canaries holidays, that the best airport for you to fly into is the Gran Canaria airport. The reason I say this is that it is the largest airport in the Canary Islands of Spain, and so you will have your best chance of finding cheap flights when you are looking at this airport. If however, you are taking yourself on a luxury Gran Canaria holiday, finding cheap flights may not be your highest priority. If that is the case, you may want to look at charter flights. It may not be the most economical way to fly, but if you can afford it, it will certainly be the most convenient way to fly.
No matter what kind of budget you have for your Canary Island holidays, whether it is a charter flight or commercial flight, first class or coach, advance planning or last-minute deal, you will be sure to enjoy the Canary Islands when you get there. Getting cheap flights to Gran Canaria just means that you will have more holiday dollars to spend once you leave the airport.
While you are looking into your flights to Gran Canaria, you might as well be looking for your car rental on Gran Canaria at the same time. Lots of people will forgo this luxury, especially this year, since rental cars are so expensive. If that is the case, you may just want to look at a Gran Canaria, car hire for a day for some sightseeing. If you're going to be spending most of your time on the beach or in the shopping centers or bar areas of Playa del Ingles or Maspalomas, a rental car may not be the best way to go for you. In this case it makes much more sense to just use the public transportation bus system, or book excursions to take in the activities that you want, which will often include transportation to and from your motel.
Since Gran Canaria is a popular tourist destination for people from the UK, it will often be easier to find cheap flights to Gran Canaria from UK than it will be to find cheap flights to Gran Canaria from the states. If you're looking for cheap flights to Gran Canaria from Ireland, either Dublin or Belfast, I would suggest you take a look at Ryan air. They have some seriously cheap flights, and they fly from Dublin Ireland as well as Belfast Ireland into Gran Canaria airport, but I think you'll have to route through Glasgow airport. If I were traveling from that part of the world though, I think I would be willing to do that to score the cheap flights to Gran Canaria that you would be able to get from them. If you're looking for a good way to score some cheap holidays to gran canaria, this is one of the tools that should be in your toolbox.
Your flights from Gran Canaria to the UK is going to run you somewhere around 4 to 5 hours. If you are not flying on Ryan air, this may not be such a big consideration, but on any low-cost air carrier you are going to want to consider how long your flight is. Not only for the fact that the seats can be more uncomfortable on a low-cost air carrier, but also because they do not give you any of the in-flight perks that some of the higher cost airline's will.
